US art lovers will be happy to know that the new Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida opened itself to the public with a great opening on January 11, 2011, at 11:11 am. The new design is representative of Dali’s creative spirit and is a fitting home to history’s most famed surrealist painter. This museum,which cost $36m, is the largest collection outside Europe with over 2,000 pieces of art and highlights 100 of Dalí’s most important oil paintings. Sustainable design features abound in the new museum, which provides a «Dalí-esque» experience without being trite or cliched.
